Role Requirements:

• CDA (Child Development Associate), Associate's Degree (AA), or passing score on the ParaPro Assessment required. Or equivalent number of units – ie. 2 years of college
• CPR Certification highly preferred
• Passion for education and putting students first
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be
• Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor
• State & federal background checks
• TB risk assessment or test

You'll Stand Out If You Have:

• Experience working with students with Special Education needs
• Time spent in Special Education or inclusive classroom settings
• ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) experience
• Experience working in K-12 schools
• Experience supporting students with moderate to severe needs

What You'll Do:

• Work closely with students with special needs in small group and 1-1 settings. Students range from TK to 12 and have significant learning and behavioral needs.
• Support resource teacher(s) in delivering IEPs (individual education plans)
• Take direction from lead educators and assist when needed
• Build rapport and trust with the children in your care
• Support students with personal care responsibilities — including toileting and/or diapering
• Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment
• De-escalate challenging or aggressive behaviors; comfort and experience in these settings is a plus
• Step in to support lead teachers when unavailable or absent
• Sitting, standing, and walking required; must be able to lift up to 30 lbs while safely assisting students
• Observe and communicate across varied environments, including indoor and outdoor settings
• Additional role requirements will be in the handbook and shared during the interview process
