Duties
- Provide warm, knowledgeable customer service—help guests discover new wines, spirits, and gourmet products
- Operate the POS system accurately for purchases, returns, and age‑verified transactions
- Assist with product recommendations, tastings, and upselling featured items
- Stock shelves, rotate product, build attractive displays, and maintain a clean, organized store
- Conduct inventory checks, replenish stock, and maintain accurate counts using basic retail math
- Handle cashiering duties including cash handling, payment processing, and balancing registers
- Answer phone calls professionally and assist customers with product availability or special orders
- Support store standards for alcohol compliance, including proper ID checks and responsible service practices
Requirements
- Previous retail experience preferred; experience in liquor, wine, or specialty grocery is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash‑handling procedures
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for transactions and inventory
- Knowledge of wine, spirits, craft beverages, or gourmet food—or a willingness to learn
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, patient attitude in busy settings
- Understanding of merchandising, stocking procedures, and product presentation
