Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks, including tractor-trailers, and flatbeds, to transport construction materials, debris across designated routes.
- Follow all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines, and hazardous materials regulations to ensure compliance during transportation.
- Conduct routine inspections of trucks before and after trips, checking for mechanical issues or safety concerns to maintain optimal vehicle performance.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate deliveries, report issues, and optimize route efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with dump trucks, tractor-trailers.
- Knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures, freight handling, and logistics cargo management.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- Demonstrated understanding of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, DOT compliance standards, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while adhering to safety standards such as those set by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).
