Role Description This full-time Business Development Manager role is a hybrid position based in Philadelphia, PA, with the flexibility to work remote part of the week. The Business Development Manager will identify and qualify new business opportunities for WAREHOUSING STORAGE, CROSSDOCK AND TRANSLOAD OPPORTUNITIES. This candidate should build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, and conduct prospecting through outbound calls, emails, networking, and industry events. This role will lead discovery discussions with potential clients to understand their warehouse, distribution, and supply chain needs, and will collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored proposals, pricing, and presentations. The individual will manage the end-to-end sales cycle, including RFP responses, contract negotiations, and handoff to implementation teams. Daily responsibilities also include monitoring market trends, tracking performance metrics in the CRM, preparing forecasts and reports, and maintaining long-term relationships with key accounts to support retention and growth.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within logistics, warehousing, distribution, or supply chain services.
- Strong skills in prospecting, pipeline management, opportunity qualification, and closing complex B2B deals.
- Ability to understand and communicate supply chain engineering, optimization concepts, and value-added services to potential clients.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and basic data analysis to track opportunities, forecast revenue, and report on sales performance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including delivering client presentations and developing persuasive proposals.
- Skilled in relationship-building, negotiation, and stakeholder management at multiple organizational levels.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams both in-office and remotely.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to travel within the region as needed for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
