What are the responsibilities and job description for the ESY- Paraprofessionals-SUM26 position at Scituate Public School District?
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The paraprofessional works closely with Special Education students under the direction and supervision of the designated lead educator. Pay is consistent with employee’s current hourly rate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support and supervision to students attending the ESY program.
- Support students’ use of assistive technology
- Implement behavior plans as appropriate
- Reinforce instruction and previously taught concepts in a small group setting
- Be aware of and adhere to confidentiality protocol
- Specialized Para Responsibilities: Conduct ABA trials and participate in de-escalation and physical management (if trained).
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the ESY coordinator or administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS-REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working with special education population preferred
- Ability to work with students in a tutorial capacity necessary
- Ability to follow directions of the lead educator and/or the building Principal is essential Employment based on successful completion of a CORI and fingerprinting background check.
- Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment.
