Position Overview
My client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and testing of innovative medical devices. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Management teams to bring products from concept through commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop medical device components, assemblies, and systems.
- Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and product specifications using SolidWorks.
- Develop and execute product characterization, verification, and environmental testing.
- Build and evaluate prototypes to support product development activities.
- Work with suppliers to source components, qualify tooling, and support manufacturing readiness.
- Collaborate with Quality and Operations teams to ensure products meet design and manufacturing requirements.
- Identify and address technical risks related to performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and safety.
- Support design reviews and cross-functional project meetings.
- Prepare technical documentation, test protocols, reports, and design records.
- Drive projects forward by managing timelines, priorities, and deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5 years of mechanical design and product development experience.
- Strong proficiency with SolidWorks.
- Experience leading or contributing to new product development projects.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection molding, metal forming, welding, and assembly methods.
- Experience designing products for automated manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with FDA Design Controls, Quality System Regulations (QSR), and ISO 13485 requirements.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Additional Information
- No direct supervisory responsibilities.
- May provide guidance or oversight on specific projects or tasks as needed.
Salary : $110,000 - $135,000
