Scipi is the parent company to North Central, Sunburst Memorials and Parts Midwest. Scipi has been 100% employee owned since 2014 and is one of the oldest ESOPs in the state of Minnesota. This position is located at our Scipi Headquarters in St. Cloud, also known as the Granite City, is home to several parks and attractions highlighting our granite mining history. For example, Quarry Park and Nature Preserve is a 683 acre preserve with 20 former granite quarries and is a great place to swim, scuba, fish, climb, or admire.
Position Description:
The Corporate Controller serves as a key member of our finance leadership team and is responsible for leading accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and internal control functions across Scipi Companies. Reporting directly to our CFO, this role supports operational excellence and strategic growth through financial leadership, process improvement, acquisition integration, and business-focused financial insights.
This position has a base salary range of $155,000 - $170,000 annually.
This position is eligible for an annual, goals-based bonus of $20,000 - $25,000 with goals to be determined within the first 90 days of employment.

Essential Functions
- Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, & Accounting Leadership: lead and strategize enterprise-wide accounting operations, financial reporting, and close processes across all business entities, ensuring GAAP compliance, consistent accounting practices, and effective support and oversight of subsidiary Controllers and accounting teams
- Financial Planning, Analysis, & Business Performance: partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning while analyzing performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting strategic initiatives through financial modeling and capital investment analysis
- Internal Controls, Governance & Compliance: maintain a strong internal control environment by ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, coordinating financial reviews and ESOP valuation activities, and supporting the organization’s progress toward audit readiness
- Treasury, Systems & Continuous Improvement: support treasury, cash flow, financing, and working capital management while leading finance technology and process improvement initiatives, overseeing corporate insurance and risk management programs, and enhancing operational efficiency, reporting capabilities, and internal controls
- Leadership & Organizational Development: develop and lead a high-performing accounting team, establishing departmental goals and performance expectations while supporting mergers, acquisitions, integration efforts, and other strategic initiatives that drive the company’s long-term success

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, consolidations, and corporate accounting
- Strong understanding of internal controls, corporate governance, and financial compliance
- Demonstrated leadership in developing high-performing accounting organizations
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate financial information into operational insight
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, organization, and project management skills
- Executive-level communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate across multiple business functions
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems and financial reporting technologies; NetSuite experience preferred
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (CPA preferred)
- 10 years of accounting and financial leadership experience, including 5_ years of experience in a senior accounting leadership role
- Public accounting and multi-entity organization experience
- Strong knowledge of consolidated reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and internal controls
- Proven success leading accounting teams and implementing process and system improvements
Preferred Experience:
- Active CPA designation preferred, but not required
- Experience within manufacturing, distribution, or multi-location organizations
- ESOP, merger and acquisition, and post-acquisition integration experience
- Exposure to multi-currency and internation accounting environments
- Experience driving financial systems, reporting, audit readiness, and process transformation initiatives
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer
- Ability to communicate effectively in-person, virtually, or by telephone
- Occasional travel to subsidiary locations (approx. 10-20%)
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
