POSITION: Power Line Mechanic / Fiber Optics Technology Instructor- Adult Education DISTRICT: Scioto County Career Technical Center REPORTS TO: Adult Ed Trade and Industrial Coordinator
STARTING DATE: August 2026
WORK YEAR: Full-time Evenings
SALARY RANGE: $36.55 per hour
BENEFITS: Retirement
QUALIFICATIONS:
● ● High School Diploma or GED
● 3 years’ experience as a Line Mechanic
● 3 years’ experience in Fiber Optics installation and splicing
● Class A CDL license preferred
● Valid driver’s license
● Experience operating bucket trucks & digger-derricks
● Experience working on conductors and equipment
● Experience climbing poles and structures, and working from bucket trucks or ladders
● Teaching/training experience preferred
● Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
● Pass a background check
● Eligible to obtain an Ohio Adult Education Permit
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach students to perform all types of work involved with the installation, rearrangement, maintenance, operation, removal and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities; operate line trucks and associated auxiliary equipment, and all other duties assigned by supervisor.
Teach students in the Fiber Optics Technology programs the fundamentals and principles of fiber optics installation and repair thus fulfilling the instructional goals and objectives of the programs.
