Critical Care in Specialty Hospitals

Registered Nurse - Advanced Skills / ICU Registered Nurse / ICU RN
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains the standard of nursing care and implements policies and procedures of the hospital and nursing department.
- Assesses patient on admission within required time frame and makes referral to other disciplines based on assessment.
- Develops nursing care plan for assigned patient on admission and updates as needed.
- Ensures patient is in proper position and alignment.
- Documents patient admission assessment and reassessments, patient care plans, and other pertinent information completely in electronic medical record.
- Demonstrates correct use of biomedical equipment.
- Demonstrates safe and effective delivery of patient care.
- Obtains consents for procedures and blood transfusions.
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to patient change in condition.
- Completes and documents patient admission assessment and reassessments as required.
- Reports pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to appropriate person and records accurately.
- Administers medications with verbalized knowledge of action, side effects, correct dosages, and route according to ICU policies and procedures.
- Graduate from accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Current state licensure as Registered Nurse.
- BCLS certification and ACLS required.
- Minimum one year training and experience in Critical Care.
