Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a part-time, contract-to-hire HR Coordinator on behalf of our client, a highly respected mission-driven media organization based in Austin, Texas. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented, people-focused professional who enjoys variety and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain employee records and support HRIS administration, including data integrity and compliance activities.
- Provide administrative support related to policy development, compliance reporting, audits, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding benefits, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Assist with benefits administration activities, including enrollment and offboarding processes.
- Post and maintain job advertisements across multiple platforms.
- Coordinate interview scheduling, candidate communications, and hiring logistics for active searches.
- Compile interview feedback and support communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Assist with fellowship and internship program recruitment activities.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for staff technology support requests, triaging issues and coordinating with external IT vendors.
- Coordinate procurement, setup, and distribution of laptops and equipment for new hires.
- Administer user credentials, SaaS subscriptions, and access management systems.
- Track IT support requests and assist with vendor coordination and reporting.
- Draft internal communications, organizational announcements, and employee updates.
- Support all-staff meeting logistics and maintain departmental calendars.
- Assist with employee recognition and engagement initiatives.
- Maintain office safety procedures and emergency preparedness documentation.
- Coordinate training logistics related to workplace safety and employee wellbeing initiatives.
- Maintain labor relations documentation, track key deadlines, and support labor-management meeting logistics.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of two years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, Office Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms and business technology systems.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a dynamic environment.
COMPENSATION & LOCATION
- Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour
- Schedule: Part-Time Temporary Assignment (6 months)
- Location: 100% onsite in downtown Austin, TX
