Controller

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Controller on behalf of a well-established manufacturing organization. This is an onsite opportunity based in Staunton, Virginia or Richmond, Virginia, offering the chance to partner directly with executive leadership and play a key role in driving financial strategy, operational excellence, and business growth.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Controller will oversee all accounting and financial operations for a manufacturing facility, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with GAAP. This hands-on leadership role will own budgeting, forecasting, inventory accounting, standard costing, and ERP optimization while partnering closely with operations and executive leadership to improve financial performance. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead all accounting and financial operations, including monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Oversee manufacturing accounting functions with a strong focus on standard costing, inventory accounting, and cost analysis.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, multi-state sales tax requirements, and financial policies.
• Partner with operations and executive leadership to improve profitability, reporting, and overall business performance.
• Drive ERP optimization, process improvements, and operational efficiencies across the accounting function.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated experience leading accounting and finance functions within a manufacturing environment utilizing standard costing.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, inventory accounting, and internal controls.
• Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Proven ability to lead process improvement initiatives and partner effectively with operational leadership.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and team leadership skills.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
