Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for Backend Engineer for a growing technology organization that develops advanced software platforms designed to improve online performance, data visibility, and digital optimization for businesses across a variety of industries. This is a direct hire, hybrid role working in San Francisco, CA.

The Backend Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications that support high-performance software products. - Design and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and Django
- Build and support APIs, database integrations, and distributed services
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and DevOps teams to deliver new features and improvements
- Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following established best practices
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile development processes
- Contribute to system architecture and overall software design
- Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience working with Python/Node and Django rest frameworks.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Experience with AI-assisted tools, including Cursor, in daily development workflows
- Experience with automated testing and test-driven development (TDD) methodologies
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, or modern DevOps practices
- Understanding of Agile or Scrum development methodologies
- Any frontend experience with React and/or Typescript is a huge plus.
