We are seeking multiple candidates for this position. This is a remote position and the candidate must be within 50 Miles of Denver, CO. The Medical Support Assistant shall perform receptionist functions in support of Veterans Health Administration, including but not limited to:
· Screens and receives phone calls in a courteous and timely manner
· Responds to telephone inquiries regarding delivery of services
· Perform appointment scheduling, tracking, pre- and post- appointment contacts as required
· Receive medical records and ensure all necessary health and administrative information are processed into the proper Records Systems
· Coordinates and authorizes care with external community care providers
· Access computers to utilize Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel, and various electronic systems
· Process community care consults in associated electronic systems
· Effectively communicates with internal and external medical providers, reception staff, patients, and other third parties
· Provide friendly and quality customer service to all patients, patient families, office and medical staff
· Various front desk administrative duties, as needed
- Qualifications
- Basic Requirements:
- Contractor personnel shall be a resident of the United States of America.
- Have a High School education or GED equivalent
- Oral and written proficiency with English
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Type at least 50 WPM
- Have no health or physical disability restrictions that interfere with the performance of assigned duties
- Basic medical terminology knowledge
- Minimum 6 months of customer service experience
- Preferred Experience: (experience preferred but not required)
- One (1) year of specialized experience in clinical setting (doctor’s office, clinic, hospital), Specializing in:
- scheduling medical appointments in a clinical setting
- Experience utilizing electronic health record systems
- Experience screening and directing telephone calls appropriately.
