Role Description The Senior Business Development Manager will lead growth initiatives for Scimplify USA, focusing on acquiring new customers, expanding key accounts, and strengthening partnerships in the specialty chemicals ecosystem. This full-time remote role involves identifying high-potential market segments, building and managing a robust sales pipeline, and closing strategic deals that align with Scimplify’s global capabilities. The individual will collaborate closely with scientific, operations, and product teams to translate complex chemical solutions into clear value propositions for customers. Daily activities include prospecting and outreach, conducting discovery calls, preparing proposals and commercial terms, negotiating contracts, and tracking performance against revenue and margin targets. The role also includes contributing to go-to-market strategies, providing market feedback to leadership, and representing Scimplify in industry forums and client meetings (virtual and occasional in-person as needed).
Qualifications
- Strong business development, B2B sales, and account management skills within chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or adjacent industrial sectors.
- Proficiency in market research, opportunity assessment, and pipeline management using CRM tools and data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience in strategic planning, partnership development, and contract structuring to support long-term, scalable customer relationships.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional, global teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA or relevant technical discipline) is an advantage.
- Previous experience in specialty chemicals, CDMO/CRAMS, or industrial manufacturing business development is highly beneficial.
- Comfort with digital platforms, virtual selling, and using analytics to monitor performance and optimize commercial strategies.
