Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced professional to strengthen our enterprise-wide resilience and continuity initiatives. This role plays a key part in ensuring that critical business operations can continue or recover quickly following any disruption, through robust planning, coordination, and execution of continuity and technical recovery strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the delivery of the organization's Business Continuity and Resilience program across several simultaneous projects.
- Conduct and support resilience risk reviews, including data gathering, site analysis, prioritization of critical locations, and preparation of comprehensive summary reports.
- Develop and maintain technical recovery plans in collaboration with IT and operational teams, mapping dependencies, creating documentation, and facilitating approvals.
- Oversee the creation, testing, and regular updates of business continuity plans, working with stakeholders to gather inputs and validate scenarios through exercises and simulations.
- Lead or assist in after-action reviews, identifying lessons learned and integrating improvements into future planning.
- Partner with technology, risk, security, and operational leaders to ensure recovery strategies are aligned and consistently documented.
- Prepare and deliver program status updates, performance metrics, and recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure program practices align with ISO 22301 and recognized industry frameworks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Emergency Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, risk management, or a similar discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement continuity or recovery strategies, conduct risk assessments, and coordinate plan testing.
- Working knowledge of standards and best practices such as ISO 22301, NFPA 1600, or NIST SP 800-34.
- Familiarity with the full business continuity lifecycle, from business impact analysis to plan validation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; exposure to ServiceNow or similar platforms is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
- Strong organizational skills and capacity to manage multiple deliverables under tight timelines.
- Comfortable facilitating workshops and translating technical recovery details into clear, actionable business documentation.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud-based recovery strategies is a plus.
- Experience working with configuration management databases (CMDBs) or technical environment diagrams is preferred.
