Overview:
Our client is seeking a seasoned Project Manager with proven experience in Software Asset Management (SAM) to lead and deliver initiatives focused on optimizing software usage, ensuring compliance, and enhancing cost-efficiency across the enterprise. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience managing complex SAM projects, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end project delivery for SAM initiatives, from planning through execution and closure.
- Collaborate with Procurement, IT, Security, and Legal teams to develop and refine software asset policies and processes.
- Manage software license compliance efforts and coordinate audits or vendor true-ups.
- Oversee the implementation or enhancement of SAM tools and ensure their integration with existing ITSM/CMDB platforms.
- Identify opportunities to optimize license usage, reduce risk, and manage software lifecycle more effectively.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, risk registers, and status reporting for stakeholders.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with third-party software vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate effective communication and change management related to SAM processes and tools.
- Support financial tracking and budgeting for software assets, renewals, and contracts.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of Project Management experience, with a strong emphasis on software asset lifecycle projects.
- Direct experience in Software Asset Management (SAM)-ideally involving tools like ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow Software, or similar.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and IT service management platforms.
- Proven experience managing vendor relations and compliance audits.
- Strong understanding of software licensing models (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Project Management certification (PMP, Prince2, or equivalent) is preferred.
- ITAM or SAM certifications (e.g., CSAM, CITAM) are a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or related field.
