We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis processes that support our company's strategic goals. Your insights will guide decision-making across the organization, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources to maximize growth and operational efficiency.
Role responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and management of the company’s annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with department heads to understand and challenge financial assumptions, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Prepare detailed financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives, go-to-market plans, product development, and investment decisions.
- Monitor key financial metrics, including revenue, expenses, profitability, and cash flow, providing variance analysis and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Support investor relations by preparing financial reports, presentations, and narratives for stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain financial dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and analyses, including M&A activities, scenario planning, and cost-benefit analyses.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Key qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA with 3 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or related roles, preferably in a technology company.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with proficiency in Python
- Deep understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and key financial metrics.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across functions and levels of an organization.
- Strong attention to detail, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in the technology sector.
- Familiarity with financial planning software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage, NetSuite, SAP).
- MBA with 2 years of experience in investment banking.
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment.
Salary/Pay Range:
For individuals hired to work in California, Science is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. We determine your level based on your interview performance and make an offer based on geo-located salary bands. The base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 – 170,000 equity benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please keep in mind that the equity portion of the offer is not included in these numbers.
