Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement daily instruction aligned with GELDS and Pre-K requirements
- Maintain a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
- Conduct developmental assessments and maintain student portfolios using WSS
- Communicate regularly with families through conferences, updates, and classroom events
- Collaborate with co-teachers, administrators, and support staff
- Support kindergarten readiness and early literacy, math, science, and social-emotional development
- Ensure compliance with all Georgia Pre-K documentation and operational standards
Qualifications (Required by GA DECAL):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Valid Georgia Pre-K Lead Teacher credential (DECAL-approved)
- Experience with Work Sampling System Online (WSS) or similar assessment tools
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must pass a Georgia DECAL criminal background check
- Experience in STEM or project-based learning environments
- Familiarity with HighScope, Creative Curriculum, or similar
- Passion for integrating science and innovation into early childhood education
