SANY’s Utica Academy of Science Elementary School is excited to announce opening Long Term Leave Academic Intervention Specialist (Grades K-6) role for the 2022-2023 Academic Year!
As a result, we are looking for Academic Intervention Specialist who are eager to support our teachers and students. We have a great environment for new teachers and encourage experienced teachers to apply!
NYS Certification Required.
As an Academic Intervention Specialist you will:
- Assist with preparation and instruction- (Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies)
- Work closely with small groups of students and provide intervention - Tier 2 and 3 Interventions
- Actively participate in weekly meetings and attend all school-wide events
- Share data collected with stakeholders (classroom teacher, parents)
- Implement classroom policies and procedures
- Lead students to and from specials/lunch
- Effectively manage student behavior
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
- Follow Response to Intervention (RTI) process (i.e. administering researched based interventions, progress monitoring)

What you need
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree; Masters Preferred
- Certification required
- Experience with a diverse population of students or in an urban setting a plus
- Prior teaching experience preferred and novice teachers encouraged to apply!
- Fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education
