SCICAP Early Childhood Program is seeking a professional candidate to serve as a Quality Assurance/Facilities Specialist for our Head Start/Early Head Start program. The Quality Assurance/Facilities Specialist will have the responsibility of ensuring the program complies with Head Start Performance Standards and Iowa HHS licensing requirements by conducting compliance reviews of participant files and all Head Start/Early Head Start facilities.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Conduct ongoing case file reviews, including reviewing files, documents and processes for compliance with contract and agency requirements. Ensure accuracy and completeness of information reviewed.

· Identify problem areas with facilities, client files and other areas, if any, help develop solutions to increase compliance, gain efficiency and maximize quality of services.

· Close out child files and bring them to Central Office at end of school year.

· Ensure all facilities are properly maintained, and complete repairs or acquire bids on all items needing repair. Work with staff in each center to address facility concerns in a timely manner.

· Collect Facility/Playground Safety and Playground Maintenance checklists monthly to ensure that all necessary maintenance is complete.

· Monitor and keep record of necessary information for all drivers per transportation agreement, keeping a current record of all vehicles that are used to transport children, this includes annual safety inspections and maintenance logs.

· Perform on-site observations at each center with the bus monitor, two times yearly

· Update materials for Transportation Kit and ensure that safety standards are met including: first aid kits are supplied, child emergency numbers are posted, emergency procedures are posted and clearly marked, and tooth brushing has been introduced.

· Monitor completions of bus evacuation drills and student pedestrian safety training. Monitor accident/incident reports for each center and that the information is recorded in Child Plus.

· Coordinate Emergency Preparedness and keep updated on OSHA regulations.

· Perform a health and safety check at each center once a year.

· Conduct new staff training and orientation, including training new bus monitors. Present updated information and materials to staff. Monitor that all parents receive Pedestrian Safety Training.

· Other duties as assigned by the Program Director

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Must have current physical for start of employment and then every three years

· No personal record regarding child abuse, sexual abuse or neglect

· Pass Criminal Record Checks before employment (DCI)

· Required fingerprinting at hire and every four years after

EDUCATION

· High School Diploma

Pay: $35,000.00 - $41,000.00 per year
