Kellington is seeking dedicated and highly professional School Security Officers (SSOs) for the upcoming academic year. These roles support a safe and positive learning environment across various school districts in and around the Greater Pittsburgh region.
Schedules & Compensation: Start/end times, work calendars, and pay rates vary by district.
Pre-Employment Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete the following clearances (upon hire):
- ACT 151: PA Child Abuse
- ACT 34: PA State Police
- ACT 114: FBI Fingerprinting
- TB Test
Armed Security Officers MUST complete the following trainings (paid trainings):
- NASRO
- ACT 126 Mandated Reporter
- CPR/First Aid/AED
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Working closely with students and staff of schools
- Handling any escalated security issues or emergency situations appropriately
- Assisting in de-escalation of children in crisis
- Responding to altercations on school property
- Performing perimeter checks, including securing doors and windows
- Directing traffic on school grounds
- Building, improving and maintaining effective relationships with community partners
- Enforcing school rules
Qualifications:
- Ability to pass aforementioned clearances
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with the ability to work independently
- Certification of Physical Fitness
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Act 235

Pay: $21.00 per hour
