What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trucking Safety Patrol - First Shift position at Schwend, Inc.?
Position Summary:
The Trucking Safety Patrol is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and ensuring safe trucking operations by our drivers at our customer’s site. This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance with safety standards, preventing incidents, and supporting a safe working environment for all drivers and onsite personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular patrols of truck loading, unloading, and staging areas to ensure compliance with site safety policies and traffic control procedures.
- Verify that all drivers and carriers adhere to site entry requirements, including proper PPE, documentation, and Mosaic onsite training (or equivalent).
- Assist with truck traffic flow, parking management, and congestion prevention within the facility.
- Identify and report unsafe behaviors, vehicle conditions, or environmental hazards to site supervision.
- Support incident response efforts, including securing areas, documenting observations, and assisting in investigations.
- Conduct routine vehicle and equipment safety inspections when required.
- Communicate and coordinate with site logistics, security, and operations teams to maintain safe and efficient movement of trucks.
- Participate in site safety meetings and training sessions.
- Maintain accurate records of patrols, inspections, and safety observations.
A vehicle will be provided for on the job use. This is a Monday - Sunday position, 7 am - 3 pm. If the port is open, you will be working. Any holidays worked you will be compensated time and a half.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
