Position Summary
Nordic Host will make contact with visitors throughout the ski area and Nordic Trails to provide a safe environment, information and direction.
Essential Functions And Major Responsibilities
License/Certifications - None
Technical - Intermediate to advance Nordic skiing and snowshoeing skills required
Physical Capabilities - Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions for entirety of shift. Will be expected to ski and/or snowshoe for up to 4 hours per shift. Will be expected to lift up to 35 lbs on their own and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
Additional - Must have an outgoing, energetic, positive attitude. Excellent communication skills required.
Education/Related Experience
Minimum education required - English reading, writing and communication required. Highschool diploma or GED preferred.
Experience - At least 1 season either recreating or working at Schweitzer. General knowledge of ski resort operations, including strong familiarity with Schweitzer Mountain Resort.

- Check Tickets
- Maintain snowshoe trails and general guest guidance.
- Will stay informed of daily events in the Schweitzer village and around the entire mountain.
- May assist Ski Patrol in support for emergency situations, special events and surveys.
- Performs other guest service actions as required.
