What You Will Do
- Conduct daily inspections and perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration systems including air conditioners, compressors, evaporators, and boilers to ensure optimal functionality and safety compliance.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex refrigeration equipment issues such as ammonia compressors, CO2 and freezer temperature monitors, and electrical components including I/O modules, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Potentially help manage refrigeration parts inventory; order necessary components and maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
- Lead setup, teardown, fabrication, and installation of plant equipment, supporting major repairs and construction projects related to stationary machinery and building infrastructure.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, Respiratory Protection, and Fall Protection, and actively participate in Hazmat training and emergency response teams.
- High school diploma or GED required; two-year degree in a specialized maintenance trade preferred.
- 5 years of related refrigeration maintenance experience with advanced electrical and mechanical skills, strongly preferred in an ammonia refrigeration environment.
- Ability to safely don and operate air-purifying respirators (APR) and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA); HAZMAT certification preferred. (CIRO is a big plus!)
- Must be able to obtain forklift and boiler licenses as required for job functions.
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and be committed to following all company and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
