This position under direct or limited supervision is responsible for providing leadership, technical expertise, and applied expertise to the sanitation team to deliver effective and efficient cleaning and sanitizing of the manufacturing facility and equipment. Responsibilities
The base salary range for this position is $54,000 to 89,000 annually with eligibility for a 5% annual incentive bonus, that is based on organizational performance. The pay range represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to educations, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise cleaning and sanitizing of production, packaging, and storage equipment, ensuring compliance with the master sanitation schedule.
- Ensure effective execution of cleaning using verification methods (ATP, APC testing, etc.) and monitor sanitation performance against defined metrics.
- Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, GMPs, HACCP, and SSOP standards while coordinating with operational stakeholders for cleaning schedules.
- Manage sanitation documentation (procedures, Master Sanitation Plan) to meet customer, regulatory, and audit requirements.
- Oversee chemical usage, inventory, and ensure safe, compliant use of cleaning chemicals per OSHA and food safety regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement in sanitation programs, collaborating with key stakeholders and utilizing CI tools like Lean and Six Sigma.
- Supervise, train, and develop sanitation team members, ensuring they meet food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Knowledge of various chemicals used in the sanitation process preferred.
- Strong communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
- Ability to read, interpret, and execute against documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations, and procedure manual.
- Ability to compile information and develop/maintain routine reports and correspondence.
- Detail-oriented, ability to take initiative, and ability to work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong project management skills.
- Knowledge of food safety, HACCP and basic food regulatory requirements.
