Duties

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on farm machinery, including tractors, harvesters, loaders, and other heavy equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues using schematics, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals, and electrical diagnostics tools.
• Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, suspensions, and air brake systems to ensure safety and compliance.
• Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet operational needs.
• Service and maintain construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment used on the farm.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems including wiring harnesses, sensors, HVAC systems, and electrical diagnostics to resolve issues efficiently.
• Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while replacing tires, aligning wheels or performing suspension repairs to maximize equipment lifespan.
• Maintain detailed service records of all repairs and inspections performed to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or farm machinery technician with dealership experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems and schematics.
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques and fabrication tools.
• Experience working with construction machinery such as excavators or cranes is highly desirable.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently using diagnostic tools.
• Knowledge of OEM specifications for farm machinery and industrial equipment maintenance standards.
• Valid certifications in diesel engine repair, air brake systems or HVAC systems are a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients alike.
