chutz Container System a Global packaging/manufacturing company located in Lexington, NC is searching for experienced Shipping / Receiving Supervisor.
This position has supervisory responsibilities for the employees of the Shipping/Receiving Department: Including receiving, storing, packing, picking, transferring, and shipping of products in accordance with SCS and customer expectations, Quality and ISO Procedures, and OSHA Safety Compliance.
Main Duties & Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Ensure that employees follow all safety and company policies.
- Supervise and direct the activities of employees involved in receiving, storage, picking, packing, labeling, shipping, and returned products.
- Manage personnel and equipment to meet department Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost performance metrics.
- Ensure that customer service goals are met for on-time delivery and order accuracy with efficiency and high quality.
- Responsible for proper handling and storage of products and maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Responsible for employee time and attendance.
- Train and cross-train staff. Create, plan, prepare, and conduct informal on-the-job training with employees on DOT, safety, and quality issues.
- Maintain appropriate levels of department supplies, tools and equipment.
- Responsible for managing cycle count program and inventory activities.
- Prepare reports, records, and other required documents and paperwork.
- Participate in and prepare for internal and external audits.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA requirements and ensuring safety compliance in the plant.
- All other duties as assigned.
Essential Physical Functions: Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to withstand working in a non-climate controlled manufacturing environment.
Work Environment: Most tasks and responsibilities require working in a non-climate controlled manufacturing plant environment - (exposure to disagreeable conditions typical to a manufacturing plant.) The employee may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, dust and chemicals. When in the plant Personal Protective Equipment includes but is not limited to: safety footwear, eye, hearing and hand protection.
