Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or
Associates Degree & Relevant Experience
Qualifications
- 2 years of proven experience in weld engineering within a manufacturing or production environment
- Foundational knowledge of welding processes – mainly GMAW and GTAW
- Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 & D1.2
- Experience with weld fixtures and tooling
- Basic understanding of welding metallurgy and heat treatment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Preferred experience with Solidworks to create models and drawings
- Exposure to an automated weld environment
Tasks
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, specifically AWS
- Assist in managing welding procedure qualifications and generating welding procedures to support the manufacturing and welding teams
- Work with cross functional teams to develop, design and implement fixtures & tooling
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to optimize production utilization & efficiency on new and existing robotic weld cells
- Perform offline programming utilizing 3D robotic simulation and programming software
- Provide technical expertise or support related to welding
- Train production personnel in new or existing methods
- Troubleshoot welding problems and provide corrective solutions
- Analyze engineering designs for welding requirements
- Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness
- Design layout of equipment or workspaces to achieve maximum efficiency
- Work closely with the shop floor on development and submittal of engineering change requests (ECR’s)
$60-80K based on experience
Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
