Purpose:

Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product. Assemblers can perform all tasks conducted by the team in the assembly process and rotate through all or most of them or be assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge:

English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Tasks

  • Use basic tools including wrenches, hammers, drills, screwdrivers, brooms, and measuring devices as well as assembly fixtures
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and wiring/hydraulic diagrams.
  • Ability to assemble components of mechanical systems in accordance with the design specifications.
  • Set-up and test assembled equipment analyzing the root cause of any defects.
  • Ability to drill, taps, or ream holes.
  • Ability to align and install dynamic components such as; levers, shafts and bearings testing their operational capacity.
  • Ability to align and install components that mesh with one another.
  • Ability to install components and connections and test for any leaks in the system.
  • Ability to keep a clean, organized and safe work cell.
  • Ability to keep an accurate record of daily operations and material usage.
  • Performs other duties and assumes accountability as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives
  • Visually inspect parts as processed
  • Proceed on assignments with minimal supervision or direction
