What You Will Achieve
As a Non-Ferrous Material Handler, you will keep Schupan's recycling operation moving safely and accurately — unloading, sorting, weighing, and processing scrap metal so that every shipment is graded, priced, and recorded correctly. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety directly support our mission of building a more resourceful future.
How You Will Do It
- Accurately identify and sort various metals; verify inventory of incoming and outgoing shipments
- Ensure all inbound materials are accurately graded and priced; communicate discrepancies with management
- Obtain and maintain a valid industrial truck license (training provided)
- Manually or mechanically load and unload materials from industrial equipment, flatbeds, van trailers, or other transport vehicles
- Adhere to all Schupan safety procedures, regulations, and policies while transporting and delivering materials
- Perform data entry, tag materials, and organize inventory to maintain accurate records
- Secure and chock trailers according to company policy prior to loading or unloading
- Perform daily equipment inspections; promptly report any needed repairs to management or Maintenance
- Report all incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to management immediately
- Deliver professional and courteous service to customers, employees, and drivers
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Perform additional duties as assigned
