Schupan Sustainability is a leading event recycling and sustainability company, providing solutions to live events across Michigan, the Midwest and the country. As a national leader, we have supported our live event clients in diverting more than 2,700 tons of material from the landfill since 2008, mitigated over 3,400 metric tons of carbon emissions and reached over 30 million people through our engagement platforms.

SUMMARY

The Live Event Delivery Driver supports our live events programming around Michigan. From May – October, we support over 70 events throughout Michigan with waste reduction and sustainability solutions. Our drivers are an integral part of supporting our clients programs with delivery and removal of our enclosed cargo trailers or box trucks from event sites. Our Live Event Delivery Drivers move our trailers between our facility in Wixom, MI to our Michigan based event sites.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Transport equipment in an enclosed cargo trailer or box truck to live event locations for delivery and pickup
• Educate customers upon deliveries on proper equipment handling, loading and unloading procedures, and safety requirements
• Perform all job duties in a friendly and courteous manner and adhere to all safety requirements particular to the equipment, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Provide prompt and reliable customer service
• Maintain serviceability and appearance of truck, equipment, and inventory

• Must have effective communication skills in order to: understand and follow written and verbal work instructions and safety standards, and complete all paperwork associated with equipment transportation, customer interactions, and deliveries.

• Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks and trailers at delivery locations
• Must be able to work alone and with a team in a collaborative environment; must be able to interact in person with coworkers and the public
• Must be able to handle high stress situations

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent
• Minimum 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Chauffeur’s license prior to hire date
• Ability to drive a pick-up truck with an enclosed cargo trailer and safely maintain control of the truck and trailer while backing up

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Occasionally lift, move, or position objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• May be required to work outside in all weather conditions including, but not limited to: extreme heat, humidity, extreme cold, snow and rain.
