Position Summary
The Saw Operator plays a key role in the durable goods manufacturing process by operating saw machinery to cut raw materials to precise specifications. This position directly impacts production efficiency and product quality by ensuring accurate cuts, maintaining equipment, and adhering to strict safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor saw machinery to cut materials according to job specifications and blueprints
- Set up saw equipment, including blade selection, alignment, and calibration
- Inspect raw materials and finished cuts for quality and dimensional accuracy
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols
- Collaborate with production team members to meet daily production goals
- Report equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisors promptly
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience operating saw machinery or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Basic understanding of mechanical tools and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret job orders, blueprints, and measurements
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in machine operation or industrial equipment handling
- Experience with CNC saws or automated cutting machinery
- Familiarity with durable goods manufacturing
