PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  Must have at least 1 year experience in a high-volume or fine dining restaurant.

 

EDUCATION:  High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to work flexible hours.

 

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:  Serve safe and any other training as required

 

MAJOR JOB DUTIES:  Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Set tables as per the set standard with clean linens, napkins, silverware, and glassware.
  • Clear tables to standard after guests, wipe tables or seats with dampened cloths or replace dirty tablecloths.
  • Promptly clean tabletops, chairs, booths, and the floor under and around tables between guests.
  • Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course.
  • Respond appropriately to guest requests and communicate guest requests to server as needed.
  • Carry dishes and other tableware to kitchens for cleaning. Scrape, stack dirty dishes in dish room as per standard procedures.
  • Take soiled tableware to the designated area, and unload, sort and stack silverware, dishes, and glassware for cleaning.
  • Perform serving, cleaning, or stocking duties to facilitate customer service.
  • Carry food, dishes, trays, or silverware from kitchens or supply areas to serving counters.
  • Clean up spilled food or drink or broken dishes and remove trash.
  • Serve food to guests when servers or management need assistance.
  • Prepare and serve all non-alcoholic beverages including tea and coffee.
  • Prepare all coffee and tea to standards in a timely manner.
  • Promptly greet guests as they are seated and serve water, coffee, rolls, or butter to guests following standard given in steps of service.
  • Thank guests as they leave.
  • Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, or trays.
  • Clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment in food service areas or other areas of the restaurant, and mop or vacuum floors.
  • Communicate with server and host or hostess to expedite efficient seating, table utilization, and customer service.
  • Inspect assigned restroom every 30 minutes, and clean as needed.
  • Provides prompt, exceptional, courteous, friendly service to guests and coworkers, that differentiates us from the competition.
  • Provides quality service to both internal and external guests, specifically maintaining established quality standards for timely food and beverage.
  • Promotes good guest relations and provides excellent guest response to complaints.
  • Ensures complete and consistent communication with management, departmental coworkers, and lateral departments.
  • Ensures overall cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  • Follows company standards of hospitality by making eye contact with every guest, smiling and offering a warm and friendly greeting with the proper verbiage.
  • Remains up-to-date on Hotel current events and the details of all food and beverage outlets
  • Maintains a safe and sanitary workplace.
  • Maintains all health, safety and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Ensures the maintenance and adequate inventory of supplies as necessary to effectively perform job responsibilities, informs supervisors when supplies are low, prepares and submits purchase request as needed
  • Routinely inspects inventory, noting deficiencies and/or unusable materials and recommends dispensation to supervisor
  • Maintains thorough menu and product knowledge
  • Assists Servers by clearing used dishes, refilling beverages, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the area
  • Communicates additional guest requests to the appropriate staff member
  • Assists in producing a smoothly and efficiently run operation that meets the highest standards of guest service
  • Clears tables and ensures the cleanliness and organization of all areas in a timely manner
  • Completes side work, including stocking product, and cleaning and organizing service areas
  • Assists other coworkers when needed
  • Maintains company-issue uniform in good condition and reports to work in authorized uniform as mandated by organization, including maintaining a clean and well-groomed appearance in compliance with departmental and company dress code standards
  • Maintains communication with management, including checking out at the end of shift
  • Performs related work as requested including moving restaurant furniture up to 50lbs when required to do so.

Requires transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 50 lbs.  Requires eye/hand coordination.  Requires use of standard office equipment. Requires basic math.  Ability to push and/or pull file cabinet drawers weighing up to 20 lbs.  Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.  Communicate directly and telephonically with public, management and staff and read and write in English.   Ability to and comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions.
