Role Description: The Project Manager / Estimator will be responsible to manage all of the activities for their projects. Activities will include meeting with customers, directing the design build team to create project documents, coordinating field activities with superintendents, field crew, and sub-contractors and working with the accounting team on project costs and invoicing. The Project Manager / Estimator will develop the schedule, oversee project meetings and produce written documentation of the meeting proceedings. Travel to the customer and to worksites will be required. This position will require excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as being comfortable working with the Excel and Word.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day coordination multiple construction projects
- Work with the customer to establish wants and needs for the building
- Establish a scope of work for the project and convey that information to the design team, consultants, and to subcontractors
- Create takeoffs and estimates for work to be performed and provide owners with written proposals
- Evaluate subcontractors’ bids for compliance to the scope of work
- Produce a project schedule for work to be performed
- Initiate applications for building permits with local municipalities
- Conduct site visit walk through with client and subcontractors
- Host project meetings on site, or in the office, to coordinate tasks with multiple subcontractors and on-site personnel
Requirements:
- Bachelor or associate degree in Construction Management or related field
- Solid plan reading skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft skills including Word, Excel & Outlook
- Ability to review and markup drawings on Bluebeam is a plus
- A Valid Driver’s License
