Cashier/Stocker

The cashier/stocker is one of our most important positions. You will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service to all of our customers. We are looking for team players who will greet customers in a friendly and helpful way, who can answer customer questions and make each of our customers feel welcome, appreciated and looked after. We are looking for people who are able to operate a cash register and check stand efficiently and courteously. You will need to be able to collect money, checks, electronic payments, and coupons from the customer and provide the correct change. Keeping up-to-date on all advertised specials and sale item prices is an important part of being able to assist the customer. All positions (including Cashiers & Stockers) are required to execute their daily job responsibilities and focus on providing fantastic customer service. We expect each employee to maintain a positive attitude and a willingness to be a team player. Job Duties: Maintain good customer relations by ensuring that customers receive the best customer service. Must assure the security of cash drawer at all times and enforce Company security policies. You must be able to count your cash drawer at the beginning and end of your shift. Handle customer merchandise carefully and assist in bagging merchandise. Maintain a routine cleaning program. Assist in stocking merchandise.
Excellent people skills are required. Must be able to communicate with customers in a friendly, efficient manner. Must be able to perform basic math computations, such as addition subtraction, and division. Candidates should be highly motivated with a sense of urgency and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment at all times with all levels of employees. Must be a team player! Must have good hand eye coordination and have good dexterity in hands and fingers to scan items, operate cash register, and bag orders with above average repetition. Must be able to reach for items on checkout belt very frequently. Must be able to scan or input orders accurately and efficiently and identify and key-in department numbers, produce items, UPC numbers. Good eye sight with ability to see color. Perception of sounds is required. Must be able to lift and/or push pull while standing, up to 10 pounds frequently & up to 25 pounds infrequently. The job requires standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day and the ability to lift, stack and maneuver objects. For Stocking, you must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and 60 pounds occasionally. Must be able to push/pull up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, and reach. You may have to load and unload delivery trucks. Minimum age for employment is 18. Weekend, evening and holiday work will be required.
