Project Estimator

Position Summary 

The Project Estimator will collect and analyze information to estimate costs and services for assigned departments and projects.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Estimates the cost of new and proposed projects and services including labor, equipment, materials, and other general conditions.
• Creates and maintains budgets and tracks changes throughout the project.
• Analyzes the feasibility of potential projects and any modifications to the projects and services provided.
• Develops and maintains vendor and trade working relationships.
• Collaborates with other departments to produce detailed reports, including the itemization of project costs and forecasts of outstanding expenses.
• Documents data and statistical procedures used in conducting cost analysis.
• Ensures accurate contracts are in place for all work being performed. 
• Provides general guidance to employees regarding project details. 

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline required.
• At least 5 years’ experience preferred.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and estimating software.
• Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrable analytical thinking skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Works indoors in a temperature-controlled environment, with low noise levels.
• Prolonged periods of sitting required.
• Rarely required to lift, pull, and push objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
