Under supervision of the project manager, project engineers will assist and learn all aspects of building construction by optimizing resources and minimizing costs.
Responsibilities
Project Administration & Document Control
- Assist Project Managers with schedules, RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project documents.
- Review, track, and process shop drawings, material submittals, and contract documents.
- Maintain organized digital and physical project files, ensuring the shop and field crews always have the latest IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings.
- Support communication between general contractors, engineers, detailers, and vendors.
Steel Fabrication & Field Coordination
- Assist in tracking the detailing schedule and coordinating between detailers and the shop/field.
- Assist in gathering and organizing quality control documentation, including Mill Test Reports (MTRs) and field inspection logs.
- Coordinate with field foremen regarding site conditions and documentation back to the GC’s.
Financial & Meeting Support
- Assist with project cost tracking, quantity take-offs, and budgeting.
- Coordinate project meetings, distribute agendas, and diligently follow up on action items.
- Perform other project-related tasks as assigned to support the project management team.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management preferred; equivalent military training, technical education, or 5 years of related industry.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction plans. Experience with computer drafting programs such as ACAD and/or TEKLA Structures preferred.
- Effective computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to demonstrate competencies in achieving results, initiative, teamwork, and analytical thinking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with a tendency to take initiative.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Mindset focused on continuous improvement of department processes.

Pay: $26.00 - $31.25 per hour
