Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time Probate Paralegal to support our attorneys with the administration of probate matters from opening estates through closing. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing deadlines, client communications, and financial documentation while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals regarding probate matters
- Prepare and file probate-related court forms and administrative documents
- Draft correspondence to clients, courts, counsel, and third parties
- Maintain organized electronic and paper files and monitor all probate deadlines
- Gather, review, and organize documents related to client estates
- Open, review, and follow up on mail related to client matters
- Prepare estate accountings, including detailed itemization of receipts and expenditures and reconciliation of balances
- Enter and maintain accurate client information regarding assets, income, and debts
- Conduct occasional courthouse filings and document deliveries
- Assist with and participate in client conferences as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of probate or related legal experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
- Familiarity with probate procedures and court systems is strongly preferred
