PROCUREMENT FORESTER (FULL-TIME)

Schoonover Forestry – NW Pennsylvania / Western New York

Schoonover Forestry is seeking a full-time Procurement Forester to support timber acquisition, landowner evaluations, and independent field work. This position is best suited for a self-directed individual who takes ownership of their work, equipment, and responsibilities in the field.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct timber cruising, evaluations, and value assessments in Western NY and NW PA.
• Assist with timber procurement and landowner consultations
• Tree marking and prescription support
• Boundary and property line identification
• Walk and assess hardwood properties
• Collect, organize, and maintain accurate field and office records
• Maintain readiness of assigned equipment and field gear

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Comfortable with file transfer, organization, and basic digital workflows
• Strong GPS & map reading and field orientation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Self-motivated, organized, and dependable
• Ability and willingness to learn new skills as required
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
• Forestry, timber buying, logging, or land management experience preferred
• Forestry degree a plus, but experience and competence matter
• Valid driver’s license required
