Schooner Memory Care is seeking a relationship-centered leader to serve as our Director of Community Relations & Strategic Growth.
This position combines admissions, community outreach, referral development, marketing, and strategic growth. The Director will serve as a trusted guide for prospective residents and families while building strong relationships with healthcare providers and community partners.

Schooner Memory Care is a specialized residential community serving individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Our mission is to provide an environment where older adults can age in place with dignity while receiving support for their emotional, social, spiritual, and medical needs.
What You’ll Do
- Respond to prospective resident inquiries and referrals.
- Guide families from their initial inquiry through assessment, acceptance, and move-in.
- Conduct community tours and provide clear, compassionate information about services and care options.
- Coordinate admissions with clinical and operational leaders.
- Build relationships with hospitals, physicians, rehabilitation providers, hospice agencies, home health organizations, and other referral partners.
- Represent Schooner at professional meetings, community events, senior fairs, and educational programs.
- Support marketing, community education, public relations, and recruitment outreach.
- Track referral activity, outreach efforts, admissions trends, and follow-up needs.
- Serve as an active and collaborative member of the Leadership Team.

What We’re Looking For
Required
- Three to five years of experience in senior living, healthcare, admissions, community relations, marketing, business development, social services, recruitment, or a related field.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, organization, and presentation skills.
- Ability to support families navigating complex and emotional care decisions.
- Proficiency with standard business technology and CRM or database systems.
- Valid Maine driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, marketing, communications, social work, gerontology, or a related field.
- Experience in memory care, assisted living, long-term care, hospice, or senior services.
- Knowledge of dementia care and the needs of family caregivers.
- Experience with public speaking, community education, or event coordination.

Compensation: $65,000-77,000 based on experience
