What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist (OT) position at Schoolforce Solutions Inc?
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a school-based team for the upcoming school year.
Hourly Rate Range: $47.00 - $55.00 per hour
Responsibilities would include
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to identify students' motor, sensory, developmental, and functional needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans in accordance with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to improve fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, self-care, and functional school participation.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success across educational settings.
- Recommend, implement, and monitor adaptive equipment, assistive technology, environmental modifications, and accommodations.
- Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility evaluations, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, Medicaid billing (when applicable), and other records in compliance with IDEA, Washington State regulations, and district policies.
- Provide consultation and training to school staff and families regarding strategies that promote student independence and participation.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Washington State Occupational Therapist License issued by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH).
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification.
- Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) Educational Staff Associate (ESA) Certification as a School Occupational Therapist, when required by the employing district.
- Current fingerprint clearance and ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
