Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Schoolcraft Elementary as a Food Service Technician. This part-time position requires a commitment to providing nutritious meals in a safe and welcoming environment for our students. Schedule
Student days from 6:45 AM to 2:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and menus.
- Assist in the daily setup and breakdown of the food service area, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards throughout the food preparation and serving processes.
- Monitor food temperatures and portion sizes to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storing food and supplies.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal service and address any issues that arise during service.
- Support students during meal times, promoting healthy eating habits and positive interactions.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance food service skills.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in food service or a similar role is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students and staff.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
