We are looking for a dependable, hardworking, and hands-on School Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team at a private school campus.
This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping a building clean, safe, functional, and welcoming. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for daily custodial upkeep, setting up and breaking down areas for school activities and events, completing basic building repairs, and assisting with seasonal maintenance.
The ideal candidate is a reliable team player with good general handyman skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently while supporting the needs of a busy school environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesClean, sanitize, and maintain floors, hallways, restrooms, common areas, and other school facilities.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Set up and break down tables, chairs, and other furniture in the lunchroom, gym, classrooms, and common areas for daily activities and special events.
Perform basic building repairs and maintenance, including minor plumbing repairs, basic electrical troubleshooting, and general handyman tasks.
Safely use common hand tools and power tools for maintenance and repair work.
Receive, move, and organize supply deliveries and maintenance materials.
Regularly lift, carry, and move furniture, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
Assist with seasonal grounds maintenance, including snow removal around entrances and walkways.
Identify and address potential safety hazards and help maintain a safe, hazard-free campus.
Respond to general maintenance and facility needs as they arise.
Work cooperatively with school staff and the facilities team to keep the campus operating smoothly.
Previous experience in school maintenance, commercial cleaning, building maintenance, custodial work, or general handyman work preferred.
Basic knowledge of plumbing and general building maintenance.
Comfortable using standard hand tools and power tools safely.
Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and detail.
Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent Monday–Friday schedule.
Ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical work throughout the day.
Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
Full-time, Monday–Friday position
