What are the responsibilities and job description for the Varsity Track Head Coach position at School of the Holy Child?
School of the Holy Child is a 5-12 all-girls, Catholic, independent school in Westchester County, NY whose mission it is to develop “women of conscience and action.” Accomplished and dedicated faculty members foster the spiritual development, individual talents and interests of each student. This is realized through rigorous and comprehensive academic, arts, athletics, service and global programs.
The Holy Child Athletic Department is looking to add a Track Head Coach to our program. Proven success as a player or coach is strongly encouraged for applicants. This is a coaching-only, competitively paid, part-time position.
Duties of the Track Head Coach include, but are not limited to:
- Implement instruction and training programs to prepare student-athletes for competition; this will include plans for experienced and brand-new players.
- Collaborate with other staff members to plan, organize and run daily practices.
- Attend any/all practices and competitions at the direction of the Head Volleyball Coach and/or Director of Athletics.
- Supervise student-athletes during all team activities; travel with the team(s) to and from away games.
- Communicate effectively with parents and students via Holy Child email account.
- The Track seasons begins late February 2026
- Practice times range anywhere from 3:15 pm - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday or mornings, 6:00am - 7:30am depending on scheduling.
- Meets are scheduled during the week with a few Saturday contests.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience coaching at any level of track is preferred.
- Past player experience preferred.
