School of Rock East Hartford is looking for an experienced, music-loving, people-focused General Manager to lead our dynamic team of instructors and staff. We’re a high-volume, performance-based music school dedicated to enriching lives through music education and live performance.
As General Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind the studio’s success — responsible for team leadership, day-to-day operations, student and parent satisfaction, and meeting growth goals. You’ll balance the excitement of music with the responsibilities of running a thriving business.

What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the Studio – Manage all day-to-day operations of the school, including scheduling, communication, and staff coordination.
- Grow the Business – Meet enrollment and revenue goals through outreach, retention, and marketing efforts.
- Inspire the Team – Hire, train, and support instructors and staff, building a strong, collaborative culture.
- Create a Welcoming Culture – Ensure students and families have a high-quality, inclusive, and fun experience at every level.
- Drive Events – Oversee performances, rehearsals, showcases, and community events that showcase our students’ growth.
- Manage the Numbers – Handle billing, payroll, reporting, and budgeting with accuracy and efficiency.
- Represent the Brand – Act as the face of School of Rock East Hartford in the community.

- Are an experienced manager (2 years in a leadership role preferred)
- Have strong organizational and communication skills

- Are tech-savvy and comfortable with scheduling, CRM, and business software
- Are a proactive problem-solver who takes ownership and gets things done
- Are available afternoons, evenings, and some weekends
- Bonus: You’ve worked in music education, youth programs, retail, or hospitality—or you play a School of Rock core instrument (guitar, bass, drums, keys, or vocals)
