Position Overview
This is a part-time, hourly position.
Teaching hours are typically scheduled between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM on weekdays, based on school programming and student availability. Competitive pay depends on experience.
Some instructors may have the opportunity to add hours during the school break camp sessions and summer camp season based on program needs and scheduling availability.

Role Responsibilities
As a Vocal Instructor, you will be responsible for all music education-related elements within lessons and rehearsals, creating a dynamic and engaging experience that inspires students to grow as confident performers and vocalists.
Music Instruction
Teach vocal technique, warm-ups, breathing, pitch control, and stage presence through private lessons and group rehearsals.
Help students explore multiple vocal styles — rock, pop, blues, and more — while maintaining healthy vocal habits.
Ensure students are learning music fundamentals, not just songs, using the School of Rock Method™.
Create and document thoughtful lesson plans using our proprietary Method Books and Method App.
Customer Connection
Communicate with parents on student progress by creating quality lesson notes and assignments in the School of Rock Method App for at-home practice.
Engage with students and families by being visible, supportive, and accessible during lessons and rehearsals.
Assist during canceled lessons or events to support the overall execution of the program.
Help maintain a professional and inspiring learning environment within lesson and rehearsal spaces.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sing and demonstrate vocal exercises for extended periods.
Occasional light to moderate physical activity, including moving light musical equipment as needed.
Work environment involves amplified sound levels. Hearing protection is required when sound exceeds safe levels.
Music Teacher Requirements
Ability to teach voice and at least one additional instrument (preferred but not required).
Experience teaching or performing in multiple contemporary genres.
2 years of teaching and/or professional performance experience preferred.
Knowledge of music theory, harmony, and vocal pedagogy.
Comfort with lesson documentation and digital tools.
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Positive, patient, and encouraging demeanor with students of all ages and skill levels.
Passion for helping students build confidence, creativity, and performance skills through music.
Must pass a background screening before training.
