What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Dance Coach position at School District of Waupaca?
The Head High School Dance Team Coach promotes sportsmanship and physical fitness among students. The Head High School Dance Team Coach supervises all Dance Team activities, and works closely with other staff and the Athletic Administration of the Waupaca School District.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate and supervise dance activities at school,competition, and state events.
- With help from administration and the dance board, determine a budget for the dance team and stay within the established budget.
- Promote sportsmanship and physical fitness.
- Ensure that all Dance Team activities conform to Waupaca School District guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community.
- Support the value of a high school education.
- Be aware of and able to demonstrate proper and appropriate dance steps, movements, and routines.
General Responsibilities:
- Supervise all Dance Team activities.
- With help from administration and the dance board, determine a budget for the dance team and stay within the established budget.
- Hold tryouts
- Ensure that all members have completed the proper registration prior to the first performance.
- Organize and schedule practices and performances. Distribute a schedule of such activities to each member.
- Coordinate pep rallies, parades, and other activities.
- Supervise the ordering, distribution, and collection of uniforms.
- Work with the athletic administration to secure transportation to out-of-town activities.
- Ensure that safety precautions are observed during all activities.
- See that district policies are observed during all activities.
- Coordinate and supervise fundraising activities.
- Obtain advance approval from the Activities Director for all activities, practices, performances, and expenditures.
- Adhere to all district health and safety policies
- Other duties as assigned by the Activities Director, Principal, or other Administrative Staff.
