Job Description & Duties:

This job will follow the school calendar and average fewer than 30 hours per week. The pay rate will depend on experience and will range from $17.33 to $18.70/hour.

The goal of the general educational assistant for 4K is to support learning in these ways:

• Collaborate with teachers in 4K for the purpose of supporting student learning.
• Ensure a safe and enjoyable school-wide and experience for all students.

Qualifications:

• Must have the ability to deal confidentially with all student matters.
• Ability to supervise children and manage student conflict consistent with building expectations.
• Must be pleasant and remain calm with students, faculty, and parents while showing tact and diplomacy when dealing with students and adults in emotional situations.
• Keyboarding skills.
• Willingness to become first aid certified and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Pass a criminal background check.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Work in a manner that demonstrates collaboration, as well as independence.
• Create and maintain a positive climate in all working environments while serving as a positive role model for students.
• Enforce the school discipline policy in a positive, fair, firm, and consistent manner for all students. Effectively resolve minor student conflicts.
• Communicate with teachers, the school counselor & administrator on behavior incidents in accordance to building protocols
• Receive and communicate information utilizing email
• Identify and initiate action in classroom environments that assists teachers so that stated learning goals are accomplished
• When directed, assist students in a manner that supports educational goals for students
• Calmly follow established school emergency medical procedures when addressing sick or injured children.
• Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive and safe learning experience for all students on the playground and in the classroom.
• Efficiently manage school resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned that pertain to supervision or support of student learning.
