Responsibilities
- Supervise children during daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Implement age-appropriate educational programs that promote childhood development and learning
- Assist with diapering, feeding, nap times, and other routine care tasks for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Engage children in play, arts and crafts, storytime, and social activities to encourage creativity and social skills
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety standards
- Follow mandated reporting laws by promptly reporting any concerns related to child safety or well-being
- Collaborate with team members to manage classroom behavior using positive behavior management techniques
- Support children with special needs by applying inclusive teaching strategies and working with specialists when necessary
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting or similar settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a strong plus
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Certification in pediatric first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire) is required
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child abuse or neglect
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young children from infancy through preschool age
- Previous experience caring for toddlers or infants is advantageous
