The School District of Lee County is seeking an Assistant Director of Procurement Services. This individual oversees the procurement operations of the school district, ensuring that all purchasing activities comply with applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
This role supports the development of procurement strategies, oversees competitive solicitations and contracts, and works closely with schools and departments to meet purchasing needs efficiently, ethically, and cost-effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Six years of professional experience in public procurement, purchasing, or contract management.
- Experience leading the work of others by providing guidance and motivation while establishing goals and expectations of accountability.
- Experience and proficiency with procurement software systems.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the procurement function, including requisitions, purchase orders, bids, and contracts.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local procurement laws (e.g., EDGAR, 2 CFR Part 200), as well as district policies and procedures.
- Assist in developing and administering procurement policies, procedures, templates, and training materials.
- Lead or support the preparation, issuance, evaluation, and award of solicitations (RFPs, RFQs, ITBs).
- Review and approve purchase requisitions, contracts, and vendor agreements for accuracy and compliance.
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with vendors to ensure favorable contract terms for the district.
- Monitor contract performance and coordinate with departments to resolve vendor issues or non-compliance.
- Analyze purchasing data and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and other departments on procurement planning and budget alignment.
- Supervise and provide professional development to procurement staff.
- Support internal and external audits related to purchasing activities.
Reports to: Senior Director, Business Services Support or Designated Administrator
Starting Pay: $91,759.20
Compensation may increase based upon relevant education and experience.
